Over 16 million hours of activity recorded
Thank you to all the participants who took part in our study of physical activity by wearing a small watch sized device for a week. Over 100,000 activity monitors have been worn and returned to us, providing UK Biobank with around 16 million hours’ worth of data on physical activity. Researchers both in the UK and further afield are now able to look in depth at the effects associated with activity levels and health.

Seasonal Repeat Phase
We invited some participants to wear an activity monitor for a week, four times a year. Which will enable researchers to look at changes in activity levels at different times of the year and over time. Many thanks to those of you already involved in this – it will provide really useful additional information. We are in the final season and the activity monitor project will be finished in early 2019.
