Most people throughout their lifetime spend a large proportion of their time at work. It is known that the tasks, environment and substances involved can lead to health problems – either whilst working or into retirement.
UK Biobank would like to invite participants to take part in an online survey about their working lives. This questionnaire will help scientists to research the effect of working hours and chemicals in the workplace on an individual’s health.
Detailed data of this kind and scale has not previously been available, and could help to inform future policies relating to the working environment.
Invites to complete the Healthy Work Questionnaire were emailed to participants between June 2015 and January 2016. You may have missed the emails or perhaps you did not have an email address at the time. However, it is still possible for you to complete this questionnaire if you would like to.
The survey generally takes less than 25 minutes to complete and can be completed on a PC or mobile device, although you may find it easier to use a device with a large screen. To take part please visit the secure participants’ page on our website and select the Healthy Work Questionnaire.
As always, the responses to this questionnaire are confidential and will only be used for research which does not identify you. The questionnaire supports all the other health and lifestyle information participants have so kindly provided to us over the past 10 years or so, and will make the UK Biobank resource even more useful for research.
If you have any questions, please contact the Participant Resource Centre on 0800 0 276 276, 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday and 8am-4pm Saturday.
To ensure that you receive invites to complete future UK Biobank questionnaires, please ensure that we have your up to date email address by phoning the Participant Resource Centre.
